Pilea, or Chinese Money Plant, is originally from the south-western Yunnan province of China. These unique houseplants have round coin-shaped waxy foliage and are slow-growers. It is believed that a Norwegian missionary took cuttings home with him in the 1940’s sharing it with friends and family. The plant spread all throughout Scandinavia, and eventually the world.

Tips on Care:

  • Does well in bright light, but with no direct sunlight, direct sunlight can scorch the leaves
  • Does best with well-draining soil, drainage holes are necessary in pots
  • Let go completely dry between watering
