Pilea, or Chinese Money Plant, is originally from the south-western Yunnan province of China. These unique houseplants have round coin-shaped waxy foliage and are slow-growers. It is believed that a Norwegian missionary took cuttings home with him in the 1940’s sharing it with friends and family. The plant spread all throughout Scandinavia, and eventually the world.
