Where it grows:

Native to the mountains around the Black Sea — Turkey, Georgia, and parts of Russia.

History & fun facts:

• Extremely popular in Europe; often the #1 Christmas tree in the UK and Germany.

• Needles stay flexible and don’t shed easily — even as the tree dries.

• Glossy needles contain very little fragrance, which many allergy-sensitive households love.

Why it works as a Christmas tree:

Soft, shiny needles, layered branch structure, and unmatched needle retention. Minimal mess, clean look, mild scent.
