[Webinar] Taking the pulse of pollinators

December 10, 2020 / 7:00pm

How do we document declines of tiny bees on large landscapes?

Categories: ,

Description

Bee declines have been shown to occur in landscapes all around the world; in wild and agricultural settings; and in our native bees as well as the domesticated honey bees. Scientists are striving to determine not only who, among our native bees are most vulnerable, but also the extent of the declines in different landscapes.

In this live webinar on December 10th, Dr. Olivia Carril will discuss recent important research on the subject. She has spent the last 20 years documenting bee populations throughout the western United States in order to establish a baseline against which current bee health can be measured. Carril will highlight her own current studies in desert landscapes of the west, where bees are both most abundant, and also very vulnerable.

What you will learn in this live webinar:

– Learn what scientists are doing to determine the health of native bee populations in the U.S.
– Learn which species of native bees appear to be most at risk based on these studies
– Learn what can be done to help out native bee populations

Can’t make the live webinar on Friday? Register anyways, we’ll send you a recording afterwards.
