This Year I’ll Finally Plant Limelight Hydrangeas
The snow is still falling but thoughts of warm weather are running through my head. In particular, I can’t wait to plant a grouping of Limelight Hydrangeas along the foundation of my house. This July and August I hope to enjoy the large showy flowers of this easy to grow plant.
This splash of color in my mind is quite a contrast to the white blanket of snow I see outside the window. The white winter canvas reminds me that there is much to do this spring before enjoying the canvas of a colorful summer.
Do you too have a vision in your head? Is it a vision of planting a tree that will someday provide inviting shade? Perhaps there is a particular section of your landscape you’d like to renovate? No matter the vision, it is time to start thinking of how to make your idea a reality.
What will it take to achieve your landscaping goal?
Can you do it on your own?
If so, start by taking inventory of the tools you need. Shovel? Check. Rake? Check. Wheel barrow? Check. When the weather invites us to return outdoors, what other materials will you need – soil, fertilizer, mulch?
What steps do you need to take before tossing the first shovelful of dirt?
Is there a tree stump that first needs to be removed?
Do you know what you are going to plant, where you are going to plant it?
Does your HOA approve of the choice and location?
Maybe you’d like to do the work yourself, get your hands dirty, feel a sense of accomplishment.
However, you are unsure of what to plant and where to plant it. If this is the situation you find yourself in, consider our Snapshot Design program. With the measurements, details, and photos you provide us, we will design a colorful landscape that you can install yourself.
If the landscaping vision you hold in your head is more work than you can handle on your own we are happy to lend a hand.
We can install all trees and shrubs we sell. If your vision is that of an extensive landscape renovation, our landscaping division, White Oak Environmentals, can design and install.
Perhaps the most important question is… what do you want to plant?
What about a Burgundy Hearts Redbud for three seasons of color? Green Giant Arborvitae is a great choice to screen something unsightly. Attract pollinators, butterflies, and hummingbirds with a Miss Ruby Butterfly Bush.
