What is the difference between Clingstone and Freestone peaches?
While both freestone and clingstone peaches are sweet and juicy when ripe, there is a difference between the two in how the fruit’s flesh clings to the pit.
A freestone peach will have fruit that easily pulls away from the pit, while the clingstone fruit will, as the name implies, leave a bit of the fruit clinging to the pit.
Freestone peaches are generally a bit larger than clingstone and are delicious when eaten as a whole fruit or used in baking and canning. Clingstone peaches are typically a bit smaller, juicer, and slightly sweeter than freestone peaches.

These were the juiciest peachesI’ve ever bought! I thought I’d have tons left over for caning, but we ate most of them! Couldn’t resist. Will be ordering again next year.

I’ve gotten Peach Truck in the past, but decided to try White Oak’s and they were SO GOOD!! So ripe and juicy!! We made cobblers, ate them fresh and frozen a few. Can’t wait to pre-order again next year. The whole process of ordering and picking up was so easy. Thanks White Oak!!
