penstemon ‘dark towers’

A striking perennial with pale to hot pink color gradient on each bloom. Deep red stems and glossy bronze-red foliage make for beautiful variations and add a pop of color to borders, meadows and landscapes.

– Native to the continental U.S., Mexico and Guatemala.

– Genus name is from the Greek words, penta, meaning five and stemon, meaning stamen, each flower has five stamens. A stamen being the pollen producing part of a flower.

– A hybrid between Penstemon ‘Husker Red’ and ‘Prairie Splendor’, the cultivar originated at the University of Nebraska in 2009.
