penstemon ‘dark towers’
- Native to the continental U.S., Mexico and Guatemala.
- Genus name is from the Greek words, penta, meaning five and stemon, meaning stamen, each flower has five stamens. A stamen being the pollen producing part of a flower.
- A hybrid between Penstemon ‘Husker Red’ and ‘Prairie Splendor’, the cultivar originated at the University of Nebraska in 2009.
