Joe Pye Weed
This late season bloomer is a great source of pollen for monarchs, swallowtails and other butterflies, as well as hummingbirds.
Later in the season, finches will feast on the seed heads. At 4’ to 8’ tall, this perennial looks best when planted at the back of the bed or along the edge of a wooded area. As a native plant it can tolerate partial shade to full sun and is deer, disease and pest resistant.
