Better late than never!
There is a saying that you are likely familiar with – “better late than never”. True, there are situations where this advice doesn’t work – airplane flights, doctors appointments, wedding anniversaries, etc. But in the case of planting trees it is right on!
No, its not too late to plant a tree!
And, even better news, it is still the best time of year to plant a tree and will be for weeks to come! Yes, planting a tree in the fall, even in November, is much better than planting a tree in Spring and Summer. There are exceptions, but they are few.
Why is it better to plant this time of year than during the active growing season?
One word – summer.
Our typical summers are hot and dry – newly installed trees that are not fully rooted-in struggle in these conditions. However, when planted in the fall, trees have a full six or seven months to establish their roots, making it easier for the plant to survive the stresses of the following summer. Not to mention it is easier on the homeowner too – takes all the guess-work out of watering!
We still have many fresh and beautiful flowering, shade, and evergreen trees in stock. A great selection of trees can also be ordered online through our partnership with Bower & Branch.
